Delivery & timing
Delivery runs Monday through Saturday from our Cookeville yard. Towns within about 20 miles get next-day delivery and often same-day on calls before noon. Towns 21 to 45 miles out get the next business day, and farther towns are scheduled within 1–2 business days. These answers cover timing, drivers and short-notice orders.
Can I get a porta potty delivered today?
Same-day delivery is often possible when you call before 12 noon, Monday through Saturday, and a truck is open on the route. Putnam County and nearby towns have the best odds. A same-day rush fee starting at $75 applies, and you get the full total before we book.
Is it too late to order one for tomorrow?
Next-day delivery is our normal schedule, so tomorrow is usually still open. Call during business hours, 7 AM to 6 PM, with your address and the number of units. We check the route while you are on the phone and give you a clear total right away.
How much notice do you need for a normal booking?
One business day of notice is enough for most orders, and it avoids the same-day rush fee. For weekend events, book one to two weeks ahead. In May graduation season and peak wedding months, book earlier still, since deluxe units and trailers go first.
Do you deliver on Saturdays or Sundays?
Our trucks run Monday through Saturday, so Saturday delivery can be set up when the route allows. Sunday is not on our regular schedule. For a weekend event, a Friday or Thursday drop-off with Monday pickup is the standard plan and costs nothing extra.
My party is on Saturday. Why would you drop it off on Friday?
A Friday drop-off means the unit is set and ready before your first guest arrives. The truck never shows up in the middle of your party. One flat event rate covers up to 4 days on site, so the extra Friday and Sunday are not billed.
What time will the driver show up?
Deliveries run during business hours, and most arrive between mid-morning and mid-afternoon. We cannot promise an exact minute, but you can ask for a morning or afternoon preference. The driver calls ahead so you have time to meet them if you want to.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
You do not need to be there if the spot is clear and the truck can reach it. Mark the spot with a cone, flag or paint, or text us a photo. For pickup, leave the unit where it was set and keep the path open.
Can you drop off in the morning and pick up right after a short event?
A same-day drop and pickup can be arranged, but it costs more because it takes a dedicated trip outside the normal route. Most renters save money with the standard Friday drop-off and Monday pickup. If your venue has strict hours, tell us and we will price both.
My other porta potty company backed out. Can you fill in?
Last-minute replacements are something we handle often. Call with your address, event time and unit count as soon as you know. If today's route is full, we tell you right away and offer the earliest time we can actually keep.
What happens if your truck runs late?
If a truck breaks down or a route runs long, we call you before the promised window passes. We then deliver on the next open slot. If you paid a rush fee for a same-day drop and we miss it, the rush fee comes off your bill.
Units & equipment
We rent standard porta potties, deluxe flushing units with sinks, wheelchair-accessible units, hand-wash stations, 2-stall and 3-stall restroom trailers and towable porta potty trailers. Each unit is a named PolyJohn model or a trailer with listed hookups. These answers explain what comes inside each unit and when to pick one over another.
What comes in a standard porta potty?
Our standard unit is the PolyJohn PJN3. It stands 91 inches tall, 43.5 inches wide and 47 inches deep, with a 60-gallon tank, a toilet seat, a urinal and a hand sanitizer dispenser. It arrives cleaned, deodorized and stocked with toilet paper.
What is the difference between an event unit and a construction unit?
Event units are kept for parties, weddings and gatherings, so they look their best. Construction units are just as clean and sanitized inside, but the outside may show marks from job-site work. Construction rentals also include weekly service, while event rentals are cleaned after pickup.
What is a deluxe flushing porta potty?
Our deluxe unit is the PolyJohn Fleet FS3, measuring 91 by 47 by 47 inches. It has a freshwater flush toilet and a built-in sink with soap and paper towels. It carries its own water, so no hose or hookup is needed. Weddings and nicer parties pick this unit most.
Is a flushing unit cleaner than a regular one?
A flushing unit looks and feels nicer, but it does not stay much cleaner over a long day. Every unit uses a deodorizing chemical that controls odor and germs. Choose flushing for guest comfort and looks, and add service visits when heavy use is expected.
Do you have handicap porta potties?
Our wheelchair-accessible unit is the PolyJohn Comfort XL. It measures 91 by 62 by 62 inches, has a ground-level roll-in floor, a 32-inch door and handrails, and gives enough room for a wheelchair to turn. It needs a level, firm spot about 6 by 6 feet with a clear path.
Does the wheelchair-accessible unit need a ramp?
The Comfort XL has a ground-level floor, so a wheelchair rolls straight in without a separate ramp. Set it on firm, level ground such as a driveway, concrete pad or packed gravel. Keep the path to the door clear of cords, curbs and soft grass.
Do you rent hand-washing stations?
Our hand-wash station is the PolyJohn Bravo BRA2, with two sinks so two people wash at once. It holds 22 gallons of fresh water, good for nearly 350 uses per fill according to the maker. Foot pumps mean guests never touch a handle. Soap and towels come stocked.
Should I get a sink inside the unit or a separate hand-wash station?
A sink inside a deluxe unit keeps everything in one spot and suits small groups. A separate station lets two people wash at once without waiting for the stall to open. For food events and bigger crowds, the separate station usually works better.
What do your restroom trailers include?
Our 2-stall and 3-stall restroom trailers have flushing china toilets, sinks, mirrors, lights and climate control. Guests get the feel of an indoor bathroom. They suit weddings, formal parties and long events where guests stay for many hours.
What does a restroom trailer need to run?
A restroom trailer needs level ground, a standard 20-amp outdoor outlet or a generator, and a garden-hose water source or a fresh-water tank. It also needs enough room for a truck to back it in. Tell us what your site has, and we will plan around it.
Do you have a porta potty on a trailer that can be towed?
Towable porta potty trailers are available for jobs that move, such as fence lines, pipeline work and farm fields. The unit rides on its own small trailer, so it can follow the crew. Tell us how often it moves and how long you need it so we can price it.
Can I choose the color of the units?
We note your color request and send matching units when we have them for your date. Color depends on what is in the yard that weekend, so we cannot always promise it. Matching sets for weddings are easier to arrange when you book early.
Prices & fees
Standard units start at $165 for an event of up to 4 days or a 28-day job cycle. Every quote is itemized before you book, with sales tax shown and no surprise fuel or card fees. These answers cover distance charges, what is included and how to avoid the rush fee.
How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Cookeville?
A standard porta potty starts at $165 per event, covering up to 4 days on site, with delivery and pickup in Putnam County included. Job-site units start at $165 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, plus delivery from $50. Deluxe flushing units start at $295. See the full list on our cost guide.
Why do you need my address to give a price?
Event delivery inside Putnam County is included, but farther sites carry a one-time distance charge: $35 up to 30 road miles, $65 for 31 to 55 miles and $95 for 56 to 80 miles. Your address sets the zone and the delivery timing. With the address and date, we give an exact total instead of a rough range.
Is delivery and pickup included?
Delivery, setup, pickup and waste disposal are included in event prices inside Putnam County. Job-site units there add a delivery charge from $50. Outside the county, a one-time $35, $65 or $95 distance charge covers delivery and pickup. Every one of those lines appears on your quote before you pay.
Are there any hidden fees?
We do not add fuel surcharges or card processing fees. Your quote lists each unit, delivery, any rush fee and sales tax. The total on the quote is the total on the invoice, unless you change the order after booking.
How much is the same-day rush fee?
The same-day rush fee starts at $75 per order. It covers fitting your stop into a route that is already set. Booking a day or more ahead avoids the fee completely, because next-day delivery is our normal schedule.
Do you charge by the hour or by the day?
Porta potties are not rented by the hour. Event rentals are one flat rate covering up to 4 days on site, and longer events move to a weekly rate or a 28-day cycle. Job-site rentals are billed per 28-day cycle with weekly service. A short party and a full weekend cost the same.
Is it cheaper to rent two units at once?
Two units on one order share one trip, so outside Putnam County you pay the distance charge once instead of twice. Each unit still has its own rental rate. Ask us to quote one and two units side by side so you can compare.
How much does a wheelchair-accessible unit cost?
A wheelchair-accessible unit starts at $225 per event. On job sites, it is billed per 28-day cycle with weekly service, and we quote that rate with your order. Many events pair one accessible unit with standard units to meet the 5% rule.
How much does a restroom trailer cost?
A 2-stall restroom trailer starts at $1,195 per event and a 3-stall trailer at $1,595, each for up to 4 days on site. Inside Putnam County, delivery is included; farther out, the same $35, $65 or $95 distance charge applies. Trailers need power and water, which we help you plan before booking.
Is sales tax included in your prices?
Sales tax is added on top of our starting prices at the local rate. Your quote shows the tax as its own line, so you see one final number before paying. That number is exactly what appears on your invoice.
Will the price go up if I wait to book?
Our starting prices do not change by the day, but busy weekends sell out. Waiting can mean the unit you want is gone, or that you need a same-day slot with a rush fee. Booking early locks your unit and your quoted total.
Why does a rural or far site cost more?
A longer drive takes more fuel and more of a driver's day for one stop. Outside Putnam County, a one-time distance charge of $35, $65 or $95 applies, set by road miles from the Cookeville yard. Steep, rough or lake-access roads can also need extra time, and we tell you about any of that before you book.
Payment & paperwork
Payment is taken by card when you book, which holds your unit and your price. Businesses can apply for net terms after credit approval, and we send a certificate of insurance or W-9 on request. These answers cover how to pay, quotes in writing and what you are agreeing to.
How do I pay? Do you take cash or checks?
We take credit and debit cards when you book. Drivers do not handle payment, so cash is not taken on site. Businesses that pass a credit check can set up net terms and pay by invoice after their first order.
Do I pay when the unit is delivered?
Payment is taken at booking, not on delivery. Paying up front holds your unit and your price, and the driver can focus on setup. You get a receipt by email or text right away as proof of your order.
Can my company use a PO or net terms?
Businesses can apply for net terms, and approval takes a few business days. Until then, orders are paid by card so you get on the schedule quickly. We add your PO number to each invoice once you send it.
Can you send a certificate of insurance and a W-9?
A certificate of insurance and a W-9 are available on request. Tell us the certificate holder name and address and where to email the forms. Ask when you book so the paperwork is ready before delivery day.
Can you email me a quote first?
Written quotes by email or text are free and come quickly. Each quote lists the units, dates, delivery and total with tax. A quote does not hold the unit, so book once you are ready, especially for busy weekends.
What am I agreeing to when I book?
Booking confirms your order details and our rental terms. Those terms cover keeping access clear, the cancellation policy and damage. Normal wear is free, while vandalism, fire, tipping on purpose, graffiti or a lost unit are billed at repair or replacement cost, explained before any charge. Read every term on our rental terms page.
Cleaning & servicing
Every unit leaves our yard cleaned, sanitized, deodorized and stocked. Job-site units get a full service every week, and events can add mid-event service. These answers cover what a service visit includes, how often it happens and how to keep units fresh in Middle Tennessee heat.
Does the unit come clean and stocked?
Every unit arrives cleaned, sanitized, deodorized and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Sink units also come with soap, paper towels and a full fresh-water tank. You do not need to do anything before guests start using it.
Do you clean the unit during a weekend event?
Weekend event units are not serviced during the event because they are out only a few days. The unit arrives clean and full of supplies, and we clean it after pickup. For big crowds or events longer than a weekend, add a mid-event service visit.
How often do you service job-site units?
Job-site and long-term units are serviced once a week. The technician pumps the tank, cleans and sanitizes the inside, adds fresh chemical and restocks paper and sanitizer. The driver tells you which day of the week to expect service.
Can I add a mid-week cleaning for a busy event?
Extra service visits start at $65 each. A Wednesday visit for a five-day festival or a busy job week keeps tanks low and supplies full. Tell us the head count and schedule, and we will suggest how many visits make sense.
Can I get service every two weeks to save money?
Weekly service is built into the 28-day price, so skipping visits does not lower the cost. Light-use sites still need regular pumping and new chemical to control odor. Weekly service also keeps the unit ready for any inspector who stops by.
Do porta potties smell?
Our units use a deodorizing chemical and roof vents to keep odor low. Shade and distance from seating and food areas help even more. In July and August, when Cookeville highs reach the upper 80s, extra service visits keep busy units fresh.
How many uses does a porta potty hold before it needs service?
A standard unit with a 60-gallon tank holds roughly 200 to 250 uses before it needs pumping, based on industry rules of thumb. Heavy drinking, heat and long hours fill it faster. That is why we size events by guests and hours.
Placement & access
Units need a flat, firm spot that a truck can reach. Hilly lots, gravel drives and lake roads are common around Cookeville, so tell us about slopes, gates and soft ground when you book. These answers cover where to place units and how to prepare the spot.
Where should I put the porta potty?
Pick a flat, level spot close to a driveway or road. Driveways, gravel pads and firm ground work best. Keep the unit away from doorways, food tables and low spots where rain collects, and mark the spot with a cone or flag.
Can you set it on my grass?
Units can sit on grass when the ground is flat and firm. Our trucks do not drive on lawns, so the unit is wheeled or carried from the driveway. Tell us how far the spot is from where the truck can park.
Can you get a unit into my backyard through a gate?
A standard unit needs a gate opening of about 4 feet or more and a clear, level path. Tell us about steps, slopes and tight turns so the driver brings the right gear. A wheelchair-accessible unit is much wider and usually needs a driveway gate.
My driveway is long, steep or gravel. Can your truck make it?
Our trucks handle most long and gravel driveways. Tell us about tight turns, low branches, wires, steep grades or soft ground before delivery day. If the truck cannot get close, the driver sets the unit at the nearest safe spot and confirms it with you.
What if the driver cannot reach the spot I picked?
If cars, locked gates or equipment block the spot, the driver calls you first. If no safe spot can be found, a return-trip charge may apply. Clear the area and share any gate code ahead of time to avoid that.
Can I move the unit after you drop it off?
A set unit holds water and chemical, so it is heavy and messy to move. Please call before moving it, and never tip it. If it needs to go somewhere else, we can move it for you on a service visit.
Can I lock it so only my crew or family can use it?
Most units have a latch that takes a small padlock. Renters often add one when the unit sits near a road or in a park. Remove the lock or leave the key out before service and pickup days.
Should the unit be staked down?
Units at open job sites, fields and lake lots should be staked or anchored, since spring and summer storms bring strong gusts. If a unit tips or fills early, call the main number. Messages left after hours are returned at 7 AM the next business day, and weekend emergency service can be arranged for an extra fee when a crew is available.
My site has no address yet. How will the driver find it?
New lots, fields and remote sites are common. Send a GPS pin or map link plus a landmark, such as a store, a road sign or a utility pole. A site contact who can meet the driver helps the first visit go smoothly.
Events & weddings
Events get one flat rate covering up to 4 days on site, usually a Friday or Thursday drop-off and Monday pickup. Units arrive clean and stocked, and multi-day events can add service. These answers cover sizing, unit choices for weddings, venues and what to ask for at public events around Cookeville.
How many porta potties do I need for my event?
Plan 1 standard unit for every 50 guests at events up to 4 hours, 1 per 40 up to 8 hours and 1 per 30 for all-day events. Add 1 unit for every 5 when alcohol is served. Our sizing guide has a calculator and a full chart for 50 to 500 guests.
Is one unit enough if guests can also use the house?
One outdoor unit covers many backyard parties when close family can still use the house. The unit keeps traffic out of your home and protects your septic system. Past 50 guests, add a second unit and a hand-wash station to cut lines.
What restroom setup do you recommend for a wedding?
Many couples choose a 2-stall restroom trailer, a deluxe flushing unit with a sink, or matching standard units. Add a hand-wash station near dinner. Count one wheelchair-accessible unit in the total for older guests. We help you weigh looks, budget and the space you have.
Do you supply church events, revivals and festivals?
Churches, block parties, festivals and races are regular rentals for us. We can set units at more than one spot on the same grounds and send separate invoices when needed. An emailed quote is easy to arrange if a board needs to approve it.
Can you deliver to a park, fairground or venue?
Parks, fairgrounds and event venues are common delivery sites. Check the venue rules first, since some set drop-off and pickup times. Give us a site contact and a map pin when there is no street address, and we will plan the route.
Are hand washing or accessible units required at public events?
Rules depend on the permit and the venue. Under the 2010 ADA Standards, at least 5% of units in each cluster, and never fewer than 1, must be accessible. Check your event permit for hand-washing rules, then tell us what it requires.
Can I see photos of the units before I book?
Photos of our standard, deluxe, wheelchair-accessible and trailer units are on our service pages. We can also text or email pictures of the exact unit type you plan to rent, so you can show a partner, pastor or planner before you book.
Can you donate or sponsor units for a community event?
Sponsorship requests are reviewed case by case. Send us your event name, date, location and what you need. Even when a donation is not possible, we can help you right-size the order so the cost stays as low as it can.
Construction & job sites
Job-site units are billed per 28-day cycle with weekly pumping, cleaning and restocking. We serve builders, roofers, remodelers and homeowners doing their own builds. These answers cover OSHA crew sizes, inspections, sink units and short jobs that do not fill a full cycle.
Do you rent porta potties for construction sites?
Construction units are one of our main rentals. Each one starts at $165 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, plus delivery from $50 in Putnam County or a one-time distance charge farther out. We supply general contractors, roofers, landscapers and homeowners building their own homes across the Upper Cumberland.
My roofing crew needs a toilet today. Can you help?
Same-day help for roofers is common. Phone before noon, Monday through Saturday, and the unit comes today if a truck has room on its route. A same-day rush fee starts at $75. Booking the day before costs less, so we quote both options and let you choose.
Does OSHA require a porta potty on a job site?
OSHA rule 1926.51 requires toilets for workers on construction sites. Table D-1 calls for 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, and more for larger crews. We recommend 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week with weekly service.
Does Putnam County need a toilet on site before inspections?
Putnam County wants a toilet on site before inspections. Set your unit before calling for the first inspection so the visit is not delayed. Next-day delivery usually makes that easy to schedule.
Do I need a porta potty for my home remodel crew?
Many homeowners rent one during a remodel so workers do not track through the house or overload the plumbing. A unit is a must when the only bathroom or the septic line is out of service. Set it near the driveway for weekly service.
Can I get a sink unit or hand-wash station on a job site?
Job sites can add a hand-wash station or a unit with a built-in sink, and fresh water is refilled at each weekly service visit. OSHA 1926.51(f) calls for washing facilities when crews handle paint, coatings or other contaminants, and we recommend a station on most crews.
I only need a unit for a week or two. Do I pay for 28 days?
Job-site rentals are billed per 28-day cycle, and the price stays the same whether you keep the unit one week or four. Call before the cycle ends to schedule pickup. For a few days of work, ask us to compare an event-style rental.
Long-term & monthly rentals
Long-term rentals run month to month on a 28-day cycle with weekly service included. There is no long contract, and billing stops when you schedule pickup. These answers cover how billing renews, card-on-file charges and rentals for cabins, farms and land.
How does monthly billing work?
Long-term rentals are billed every 28 days. The first cycle includes a delivery charge from $50 in Putnam County, or a one-time distance charge farther out, and later cycles are the base rate with weekly service included. Billing renews on its own until you call to schedule pickup.
Do I need to sign a long contract?
Long-term rentals are month to month on a 28-day cycle, with no long contract. Keep the unit for a few weeks or a full year. Call when you are done, and we schedule pickup and stop billing at the end of that cycle.
Can I rent a unit for my cabin, camp, farm or land?
Seasonal rentals for cabins, campsites, farms and raw land are common around Center Hill and Dale Hollow lakes. Units are billed every 28 days with weekly service. Tell us about the road, a level spot and any gate before delivery.
Will my card be charged automatically each cycle?
Long-term rentals keep a card on file and charge it at the start of each 28-day cycle. You get a receipt each time. If you know your end date, we can set the pickup ahead so you are not billed for an extra cycle.
Can I keep a unit through the winter?
Units stay out all year. January lows near Cookeville average about 26 to 27°F, so we use antifreeze in winter service and recommend a heated hand-wash station for cold job sites. Keep the path clear of snow and ice for service trucks.
Emergencies
Water main breaks, power outages and failed septic systems can leave a home or business without a bathroom. Call as early as you can for a same-day drop when a truck is open. After-hours messages are returned at 7 AM the next business day. These answers cover urgent home, business and shelter needs.
Our water or power is out. Can you bring a restroom right away?
Call with your address and the number of people as early as you can. When a truck is open, we deliver the same day, and the rush fee starts at $75. Next-day delivery is the backup if today's route is already full.
My toilets are backed up or my septic failed. Can I rent one?
A porta potty can sit at your home while plumbing or septic repairs are done. Some homeowner insurance policies cover this cost, so keep your receipt. Short repairs can use an event rental, and longer ones a 28-day rental.
Can you supply restrooms for a storm shelter or relief site?
We can supply standard units, wheelchair-accessible units, hand-wash stations and restroom trailers for shelters and relief crews. Give us the site, head count and expected length of stay. We plan the quantity and service schedule from there.
Pickup, extensions & cancellation
Event units are picked up on the scheduled Monday, while job-site units stay until you call. Cancellation is free until noon one business day before delivery. These answers cover extending a rental, rescheduling for weather and how pickup stops billing.
Do you pick up the unit automatically?
Event rentals are picked up on the scheduled date, usually the Monday after your event. Job-site and monthly units stay until you call, so we never pull a unit your crew still needs. Call a day or two before you want it gone.
Can I keep the unit longer than planned?
Extensions are easy. An event rental covers up to 4 days on site, so call before the pickup date and we quote any extra time on a weekly rate. For a monthly rental, keep the unit, and the next 28-day cycle starts at the regular rate with weekly service.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free when you cancel by noon one business day before delivery. Rush and same-day orders become final once the truck leaves the yard. Moving a date for weather is free with notice. The full policy is on our rental terms page.
What if it rains or I need to change my date?
Call as soon as you know. With notice, we move your rental to a new date for free. If you already have a rain date, tell us at booking, and we can often keep the unit on site through it.
If the pickup is a day late, will I be charged?
A late event pickup caused by a holiday or a busy route is on us, so you are not billed for the extra day. Keep the unit upright and the path clear, and the driver will collect it on the next route.
Permits & rules
Most units on private property need no permit. Placement on a public street, sidewalk or state road can need city or state approval. These answers point you to the City of Cookeville street closure permit, Putnam County Codes and the state rule for pumpers.
Do I need a permit to put a porta potty in my driveway?
A unit on your own driveway or yard usually needs no permit. Some HOAs set rules about how long a unit can sit in view, so check yours. A permit matters mainly when the unit goes on a public street or right-of-way.
Do I need a permit to place a unit on a Cookeville street?
The City of Cookeville requires a temporary street closure permit when an event or placement blocks a public street. The permit goes through the Cookeville Police Department, with a $100 fee, a $250 refundable cleanup deposit and a certificate of insurance. Our permit guide lists the steps.
Who is allowed to pump portable toilets in Tennessee?
Tennessee requires portable toilet pumpers to hold an annual permit from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation under rule 0400-48-01-.20. The rule also covers truck markings and record keeping. Ask any company you hire how they handle waste disposal.
How far should a porta potty be from food at an event?
Keep porta potties well away from food prep and serving areas, and downwind when you can. Your health permit or venue may set an exact distance, so check it before you pick the spot. Put hand-wash stations between the restrooms and the food line.
Other questions
Silo Porta Potty Pros is a local Cookeville company that rents portable restrooms and hand-wash stations. We do not rent every kind of site equipment. These answers cover who you are talking to and where to look for services we do not offer.
Are you a local company or a broker?
Silo Porta Potty Pros is a local operator based in Cookeville with our own trucks and units. Local dispatch answers the phone, and our own drivers deliver and service your rental. You have a local number to call if anything comes up.
Do you also rent dumpsters, tables, chairs or tents?
We focus on restrooms and hand-wash stations, so we do not rent dumpsters, tables, chairs or tents. A local party or equipment rental company can help with those. We are glad to time our delivery so units arrive after tents go up.
Do you pump septic tanks or RV holding tanks?
We focus on portable restrooms, so septic tank pumping and RV pump-outs are not services we offer. A licensed septic contractor can handle those. If your home septic is down, we can drop off a porta potty while repairs are made.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Cookeville and about 80 miles around it, covering the Upper Cumberland and parts of Middle Tennessee. That reaches towns such as Sparta, Crossville, Livingston, Smithville, McMinnville and Lebanon. Our service area page lists every county and town.
